The announcement will be made at the same time as the cinema release Terrifier: The ARTcade gamewhich is currently in development at Spanish studio Relevo in Bilbao. The project is described as a beat-em-up inspired by various arcade classics from the ’80s and ’90s, including Battle toads, Streets of Rage, Double dragonAnd Splatterhouse. Terrifier: The ARTcade game can already be added to the wishlist on Steam and will also be released for the PS5. Publisher SelectaPlay, a label owned by Spanish multimedia distributor SelectaVision, says the beat-em-up is currently targeting a 2025 release. No pricing details have been announced yet.

The game itself will have a fairly meta premise, asking players to step into the oversized shoes of Art the Clown in order to disrupt the movie sets being filmed about his many crimes. To this end, the iconic villain will wreak all sorts of havoc, terrorizing everyone from cameramen and makeup artists to stunt performers and police officers. To do this, he will use a diverse selection of weapons, power-ups and bloody finishers. Aside from hordes of soft enemies, each stage will feature a boss fight designed to test the player’s skills.
