AirPods Max drops again to new all-time lows with up to $154 off – USB-C $498 or Lightning $395

We saw some notable Apple AirPods Max deals on Prime Day, but prices have actually dropped a bit now. The original Lightning set now starts with the $394.99 shipped All-time low – this matches the best price we’ve found for almost any color outside of the pink set – and the all-new USB-C model is now available for 2021 $497.99 shipped in selected colors. The new USB-C Starlight paint is priced at $498, Midnight and Blue are down a bit $499 shipped.

Apple’s headphones, which normally cost $549, are certainly a serious investment, but some people actually love these things and prices are now at an all-time low, except for the pink set.

While the new USB-C may not be the new AirPods Max 2 some of us were hoping for, they do modernize the already great sounding cans and offer some additional color options – here are some real images of the new Midnight setting in action.

For people who may not be familiar with it, it’s important to note that the new USB-C set is just that – the exact same headphones, but with a USB-C charging port and some new color variants. Considering that almost everyone still has a Lightning cable lying around somewhere, I think the only real decision when it comes to buying a set right now comes down to price and color: Do you want around $100 Pay more for the USB port? -C port and new colors? Or would you like to get the essentially identical headphones for a lot less?
