“‘Peaky Blinders’ Movie Adds Series Stars Including Sophie Rundle”

Production on the Netflix feature film adaptation of the epic BAFTA-winning series has been underway since the end of last month Peaky Blinders continues to expand its cast. In addition to the previously announced Cillian Murphy, Rebecca Ferguson, Barry Keoghan and Tim Roth, Stephen Graham has been confirmed to be involved in the film, as Deadline also exclusively reported. Graham returns to the world of Peaky after his appearance in the sixth season of the Steven Knight-created drama. The rest of the cast now includes other familiar faces and a new addition.

Among them is Sophie Rundle, who plays Ada, the sister of Oscar winner Murphy’s Birmingham clan leader Tommy Shelby. In the series finale, Tommy handed over management of the family business to Ada.

Also sign up for the film you are directing Peaky Alum Tom Harper stars Ned Dennehy, who played Charlie Strong on the series, Packy Lee (aka Johnny Dogs) and Ian Peck (Curly). New at Peaky is Jay Lycurgo, who finished filming the Murphy-led Netflix film over the summer, Steve.

Details are played close to the vest.

The six-season BBC drama came to an end in April 2022, but that wasn’t the end of Tommy’s story. Details about the film’s plot are not yet known, apart from the fact that the story takes place during World War II. Knight recently said, ā€œIā€™m thrilled to see cameras rolling on this new chapter of the film Peaky Blinders Story set in World War II. The country is at war, and of course that also applies to our Peaky Blinders.ā€

The sequel to the saga was written by Knight, who is producing alongside Patrick Holland, Murphy and Guy Heeley. Executive producers include Harper, David Kosse, Jamie Glazebrook, Caryn Mandabach and Andrew Warren. The film is made in collaboration with BBC Film.
