RIIZE’s Seunghan ends his year-long break and rejoins the boy band

RIIZE member Seunghan will return to the boy band in November, SM Entertainment has confirmed.

Today (October 11), SM Entertainment production house Wizard Production released a statement via boy band’s

“Since there was no announcement about Seunghan’s activities, fans were not only curious but worried and concerned, and we can empathize with those feelings,” Wizard Production wrote in translation Soompi. It added that the timing of Seunghan’s return had been discussed “from different angles.”

“We put our heart and soul into planning RIIZE before their debut and came to the conclusion that the next chapter of RIIZE would be even more meaningful if the seven members were together,” it said. “We plan for Seunghan to gradually participate in some of the group’s activities planned for November and greet fans again.”

Shortly after the news broke, Seunghan reached out to the fan community Webverse to send a handwritten message to fans. “First of all, I would like to sincerely apologize to the members and the fans. When my pre-debut photos were released, I felt deeply regretful and disappointed in myself, even though they were photos of me,” he wrote.

The singer added that his bandmates have supported him during his break and his upcoming return. “It must have been a very difficult decision and I am full of gratitude and remorse for this second chance they gave me,” he said.

Seunghan then wrote that he was determined to “work harder and do better” to prove himself to his bandmates and his agency, and that he would not “damage” the good reputation RIIZE has built since then.

The singer took a break in November 2023, just two months after the group’s debut. At the time, the label said that the hiatus was “related to his private affairs, which were recently leaked and disseminated through online channels.”
