WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) – There was action on the soccer field and soccer field Thursday.

Lowville welcomed Canastota to the gridiron.

– The Red Raiders come onto the field first. Devin Swiernik collects the ball from one yard away and Lowville takes a 7-0 lead.

– Later in the first quarter, Carson Kempney finds Dominic Swiernik in the end zone for the touchdown. The Red Raiders are 14-0.

Lowville defeated Canastota 39-7.

Norwood Norfolk hosted Hammond in Northern Athletic Conference boys soccer.

– In the 10th minute, Hammond’s Michael Ortiz intercepts the run-out pass and then shoots a lowliner into the corner of the net. It’s 1-0 for the Red Devils.

– The Flyers are looking for an equalizer. Wyatt Hazleton turns and shoots into the net, but goalie Hudson Arquiett grabs the shot.

– In the second minute of overtime, Ortiz gets a partial break and places a cross shot that creates the winning goal for sudden victory.

Hammond defeated Norwood-Norfolk 2-1.
