Run a cozy store simulation for cute dinosaur customers on Amber Isle

Team17 Digital and developer Ambertail Games have released the cozy shop and life simulation Amber Isle for PC (Steam, $24.99). It will also be released for Nintendo Switch on November 21st.

Amber Isle is a village full of friendly, anthropomorphic dinosaurs called Paleofolk, and your job is to restore a broken shop.

After players customize their own Paleofolk shopkeeper, they stock shelves, help customers, explore the region, craft new goods, and befriend the townspeople. By helping townspeople and completing quests, players can learn new crafting recipes.

If successful, players can expand their store with larger rooms, more decor, and other improvements, unlocking new areas on the island.

In addition, like in Animal Crossing and other life simulations, the happy paleofolk will offer to move to the island permanently.

There are nearly 50 different paleofolk species to interact with on the island, including dinosaurs, ice age mammals and sea creatures. If you don’t mind spoilers, the main website’s Paleopedia actually lists all 48 Paleopeople you can encounter in the game.

The Deluxe Edition ($26.99) includes the Starter Pack DLC, which adds 10 clothing options as well as some new wallpapers and decorations for the shop. The digital soundtracks and artbooks are also available as separate DLC or included in the Gold Edition ($34.99).

Amber Isle is available now on Steam and is coming to Switch next month. It is rated E for Everyone.
