2 in critical condition after shooting at home near St. Cloud

GILMANTON TOWNSHIP, Minn. — Two men are in critical condition after being shot at a home in central Minnesota Sunday afternoon.

According to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, officers were called to a residence in Gilmanton Township, about 20 minutes northeast of St. Cloud, around 4:45 p.m. on a report of an “assault with a firearm.”

Officers discovered the men had gunshot wounds: one in the neck and the other in the stomach.

The sheriff’s office said officers soon found the suspect in the area and arrested him. He is currently in the Benton County Jail awaiting criminal charges.

The victims are recovering at St. Cloud Hospital. The sheriff’s office is still working to determine what led to the shooting and the connection between the three men.
