Iran’s secret services arrest two terrorist groups in Sistan and Balochistan

As Fars News Agency reported, Iranian intelligence services have identified and arrested two terrorist groups linked to the so-called Jaish al-Adl group in the cities of Rask and Sarbaz in the southeast of Sistan and Balochistan province.

The operation was carried out by the provincial intelligence agency with the strong support of the provincial police.

Continuous intelligence surveillance and offensive operations led to the identification and arrest of all members of the terrorist groups, the provincial intelligence agency said.

Based on preliminary information and the confessions of those arrested, they intended to carry out terrorist activities using offensive weapons and explosive devices and create insecurity in the province. However, according to Fars, they were arrested before any anti-security measures could be carried out.

The terrorists’ hideout and their cache of weapons and explosives were discovered and confiscated with the help of a tip from the people of the province.

The arrest is part of a broader effort by Iranian security forces to combat terrorists infiltrating from neighboring countries.

In recent years, Iran has faced multiple threats from several extremist groups.

Jaish al-Adl is a Pakistan-based separatist group that wants to cede Sistan and Balochistan province and has a history of bloody terrorist attacks in Iran’s southeastern border region.

Iran has repeatedly called on Pakistan to engage the terrorist group.
