Stevie Nicks soldiers are on duty after technical difficulties interrupted the live performance on Saturday evening

Stevie Nicks appears on Saturday Night Live NBC

You can’t stay in the music industry for 50 years without keeping a cool head when a technical problem or two comes your way.

That’s exactly it Stevie Nicks proved it with their performance Saturday Night Live over the weekend.

Saturday’s live show saw that Fleetwood Mac Legend opens with a rendition of her new single “The Lighthouse,” which was released last month.

But just before she was set to make her second appearance later in the show, Variety reported that viewers were presented with a title card for just under a minute before guest host Ariana Grande finally appeared on screen to introduce the music icon.

What followed was a near-perfect rendition of the classic “Edge Of Seventeen,” despite the singer subtly fiddling with her microphone right at the start of her live performance.

It’s been more than 40 years since Stevie Nicks last appeared on SNL before joining guest host Flip Wilson in December 1983.

Last week, Stevie shared that her first SNL appearance didn’t exactly go smoothly either, as her sister-in-law had to step in at the eleventh hour to do background vocals on a song.

“That was about it [two and a half] Years into my solo career, it was nerve-wracking because it wasn’t Fleetwood Mac, it was my solo career,” she told People. “So it was very scary going into the show when you were in a big band, and now you move on Saturday Night Live as a solo artist.

Stevie added: “We practiced and practiced and everything worked out well. At the time I had a friend who was writing “Stand Back” and she wanted to do the second song, which was called “Nightbird” – and she was freaking out and had terrible stage fright, so she couldn’t do it.

“One of my singers, who ended up being my sister-in-law Lori, said, ‘I’ll do it,’ and she was crazy, but she said, ‘I’ll do it.'” That was literally right before we moved on , and so we went ahead and did it, and it turned out perfect!”
