The 2024 American League Championship Series begins Monday night when the Yankees host the Guardians.

New York hands the ball to veteran southpaw Carlos Rodon. The left-hander failed to get past the fourth inning in Game 2 of the ALDS, leading to four runs in a 4-2 loss to the Royals.

Nonetheless, Rodon has made a strong resurgence in his second season in the pinstripe jersey. He finished 16-9 with a 3.96 ERA and 195 strikeouts in 175 innings.

Cleveland will start either veteran right-hander Alex Cobb or Gavin Williams, who remained in the bullpen throughout the ALDS.

The Guardians are in the ALCS for the first time since 2016, when their season ended in Game 7 of the World Series. The Yankees are playing for the AL pennant for the second time in the last three seasons.
