House fire destroys belongings of a long-time Drummond resident

DRUMMOND – A house fire in Drummond destroyed the belongings of a longtime community member and Drummond Public Schools employee.

The school district took to Facebook today to ask for donations to replace items lost in the fire.

The Valley Fire Department is currently coordinating donations with the school district. Donations were accepted until 5 p.m. this evening. However, the Drummond School District asks that you check its Facebook page. If you have questions about donations and giving, you can also contact Drummond Public Schools Superintendent Dean Phillips at 406-288-4103 or Valley Fire Chief Sean O’Connor at 406-949-0468.

MTN was able to contact Chief O’Connor who advised us that the cause was most likely electrical in nature as a hot spot had been discovered in a back corner of the home. He suspects no wrongdoing.
