Bijan Robinson celebrates his career day for the Atlanta Falcons

Week 6 of the NFL season is almost over and many former Texas Longhorn players made big contributions for their team this Sunday.

Starting with Sunday morning’s London game against the Chicago Bears and Jacksonville Jaguars. Bears running back Roschon Johnson didn’t get much on the ground with just eight yards on five touches, but he had 25 yards through the air on two in the 35-16 win.

In the Cleveland Browns’ 20-16 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, running back D’Onta Foreman had the most carries (10) for Cleveland, yielding 31 yards. Foreman also added 16 yards on two receptions.

Texas kicker legend Justin Tucker had a great performance in the Baltimore Ravens’ big 30-23 win over the Washington Commanders. Tucker was successful on all three field goals he made, with the longest being 45 yards from goal and he kicked three extra points.

Los Angeles Chargers kicker Cameron Dicker also had a great game in the 23-16 win over the Denver Broncos. Dicker also made all three of his field goals, with the longest taking 46 yards to go and two scoring additional points.

Before we get to Bijan Robinson, another former Longhorn showed off in the Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons game. Panthers tight end Ja’Tavion Sanders finished the game with 49 yards on five receptions, but it wasn’t enough against Robinson and the Falcons.

Robinson helped the Falcons win 38-20 with 95 yards on the ground and 15 carries to go with two touchdowns scored in the first half, a season-high. Robinson also added 10 yards through the air on three receptions.

New Orleans Saints linebacker Jaylon Ford moved to defense and recorded two tackles, the first of his NFL career, in the 51-27 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Texas duo of defensive tackle T’Vondre Sweat and defensive back Quandre Diggs almost gave the Tennessee Titans a win against the Indianapolis Colts. Sweat recorded three tackles and Diggs made six in the 20-17 loss.

Defensive backs PJ Locke and Brandon Jones once again led the Denver Broncos defense. Jones recorded a season-high and team-high 12 tackles and a pass deflection, and Locke had seven tackles in the 23-16 loss to the Chargers.

Defensive tackle Malcolm Roach also had four tackles and a pass deflection for the Broncos.

Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarvion Overshown had four tackles in the ugly 47-9 loss to the Detroit Lions.

Finally, Pittsburgh Steelers defensive back DeShon Elliot ranked second on defense with six tackles in a 32-13 win over the Las Vegas Raiders.

Unfortunately, no Longhorns will be playing on Monday Night Football, but a Longhorn in defensive back Joesph Ossai will be playing for the Cincinnati Bengals against the New York Giants on Sunday night. The game begins at 7:20 on NBC.
