Steve Sarkisian, the No. 1 ranked Texas football team and head coach, beat the No. 18 Oklahoma Sooners and head coach Brent Venables in the Red River Rivalry game at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas on Oct. 12. Sarkisian and Texas remained undefeated through the first six games of the season after a dominant 34-3 win over Oklahoma in Red River this weekend.

It’s the first time the Longhorns have started 6-0 in well over a decade (since 2009). By beating Oklahoma in Week 7, Texas also becomes the SEC’s only undefeated team heading into DKR next weekend in Austin against the No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs and head coach Kirby Smart.

Not only did several key Longhorns recruits in the 2025, 2026 and 2027 classes pay close attention to Red River this weekend, but a handful of them were also in attendance at the Cotton Bowl game yesterday as Oklahoma visitors.

Here are five key Longhorns recruits in the 2025 and 2026 classes who were impressed in the stunning 31-point win over Oklahoma in Red River on Oct. 12.

Terry has made positive recruiting moves for Texas in recent months.

Texas continues to hold the pole position in this recruitment of Terry as he unofficially has an important visit coming up next weekend where he will see Austin on a game day at DKR for the second time this season.

On3’s Steve Wiltfong reported on Oct. 13 that Terry was impressed with the Longhorns ahead of his crucial gameday visit to Texas next weekend for the Georgia game.

Terry loved watching the Longhorns players perform on both sides of the ball in an overall team effort in the double-digit win over Oklahoma. He also reportedly wasn’t surprised that Texas handily defeated the Sooners this weekend.
