Despite the list shake-up, the Texas Longhorns remain No. 1 in the survey among US LBM coaches

Thanks to a stunning win in the Red River Rivalry, the Texas Longhorns remain No. 1 in the US LBM Coaches Poll for the second year in a row.

After a slow start, the Horns scored 21 points in the second quarter against the Oklahoma Sooners and never looked back, ultimately winning 34-3 and claiming the Golden Hat Trophy.

But the rest of the poll’s top five has changed. Oregon’s late-night win over Ohio State in Eugene moved the Ducks to No. 2 and dropped the Buckeyes to No. 5.

Penn State, which traveled to Los Angeles and came from behind to beat USC, moved up to No. 3. The Georgia Bulldogs moved up one spot to No. 4 after knocking off Mississippi State.

The biggest drop in the rankings was Ole Miss. The Rebels fell seven spots to No. 15 after losing in OT to the LSU Tigers. LSU moved up two spots to No. 8.

Oklahoma fell out of the top 25 overall.
