Washington Commanders Mike Sainristil’s first interception of his career

Washington Commanders Mike Sainristil’s first interception of his career

You knew this had to come sooner or later, it’s almost a surprise that it took six weeks for it to happen.

Former Michigan football nickel defensive lineman Mike Sainristil was known for having a good feel for the football after moving from wide receiver to defensive back. Although he only had one interception in his first year as a defensive lineman (2022), he led the Wolverines with six interceptions last season, with his biggest hit coming in the national championship game against Washington, and secured the maize and blue, like the Huskies were, the title of driving.

Now with the Washington Commanders, Sainristil has his first NFL interception.

While playing in Baltimore, Ravens star quarterback Lamar Jackson dropped back to pass and found his man downfield, which bounced off his hands and landed directly into Sainristil’s lap.

Oddly enough, Sainristil’s interception is the first the Commanders have had this year. And now that he has one in his pocket, he’s certainly just getting started.
