“Peaky Blinders” Movie: Returning Cast Members Announced

Netflix has welcomed four returning cast members from the original series Peaky Blinders Series to complement the film’s upcoming sequel, currently in production in London. The project comes from Oscar-nominated screenwriter Steven Knight, who served as creator and executive producer of the BBC series.




Per deadline, Bodyguard star Sophie Rundle has officially signed on to reprise her fan-favorite role as Ada Thorne Peaky Blinders Film. In the original drama, Ada was introduced as Thomas Shebly’s only sister, who was one of the few people he could rely on. The character was last seen in the series finale, when Tommy suggested that Ada take his seat as an MP in Parliament. In addition to Rundle, other Shelby allies have been tapped for the Netflix adaptation, including Packy Lee, Ned DennehyAnd Ian Peck. The trio played the respective roles of Johnny Dogs, Charlie Strong and Curly, who have been Tommy’s loyal allies since the first season.

Cillian Murphy is back as Tommy Shelby in the first look at the Peaky Blinders film, currently in production for Netflix.

In addition to the returning cast members, the outlet also revealed the official cast of Titans Lead actor Jay Lycurgo, chosen to portray one of the newest characters in Peaky Blinders. The original BBC drama ran for six seasons from 2013 to 2022. It was created and written by Knight and is loosely based on a real-life Birmingham gang from the 1920s. The story revolves around the Shelby crime family, led by the formidable and ambitious Thomas Shelby, who manages to make a name for himself and his family through various illegal activities. Over the course of the series, he managed to take down notable crime bosses with the help of his titular gang and was even able to expand his influence by becoming a politician.



“Peaky Blinders” film gains new actors

Netflixs Peaky Blinders Tom Harper directs from a screenplay by Knight. At the helm of the project once again is Murphy, who has signed on to reprise his iconic role as Thomas Shelby and serve as producer. The next chapter in the beloved character’s story is expected to take place during World War II. He will be joined by several new characters portrayed by acclaimed actors Rebecca Ferguson, Barry Keoghan and Tim Roth, with Ferguson reportedly playing a key role. As production continues, more casting news will be announced, after Knight previously announced plans to add more “stunning” actors to the film.
