The iPhone SE 4 case leak gives us clues about the design of Apple's next affordable iPhone

The unofficial consensus seems to be that the iPhone SE 4 will be announced Early 2025and a recently leaked image purportedly showing a case for the handset gives us a glimpse of the design options we can expect.

This image comes from an established tipster @SonnyDicksonand viewed in isolation, it doesn’t look like much will change iPhone SE 3 launched in 2022. For example, the rear camera bump is the same size and is in the same position.

The iPhone buttons are also all in the familiar places – the cutouts for the mute switch and charging port on the bottom, as well as the raised areas for the volume and power buttons are all where they should be.

However, we heard from other leaks that the iPhone SE 4 will be the first in the series to ditch Touch ID and the Home button and use Face ID instead: it will apparently be similar to the iPhone 14, although these fairly major design changes wouldn’t be apparent at first glance Case.

Another rumored design change that this case leak neither confirms nor contradicts is an increase in screen size: this is apparently the case with the iPhone SE 4 display grows to 6.1 inches from 4.7 inches and the iconic notch at the top, giving fans of small phones one less option to choose from.

Even though the case isn’t much different than the current model – other than the size – the leak is further evidence that an update to this model could be on the way. The iPhone SE 3 launched in March, and the iPhone SE 4 could follow suit.

The phone could even support Apple Intelligencewith 8GB of RAM on board, enough to keep the AI functions running smoothly. Hopefully Apple still manages to match the current model’s launch price of $429 / £419 / AU$719.
