The Colts’ Michael Pittman Jr. is expected to play after he was rumored to go to IR just days ago

Indianapolis Colts receiver Michael Pittman Jr. has been dealing with a back injury for the past week but is still expected to play in Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported.

It was originally reported that Pittman could be out for several weeks, but now he won’t miss any more time. There were even rumors that he would be placed on the injured reserve list. Instead, he returned to practice on the Friday before Sunday’s game after missing Wednesday’s practice.

The Colts are dealing with several injuries to their team entering Week 6. Quarterback Anthony Richardson missed last week’s game with an oblique strain and will not play in Week 6. Running back Jonathan Taylor also missed last week’s game with an ankle injury and will miss Sunday’s game against the Titans. Receiver Josh Downs also entered Sunday as questionable with a toe injury but is expected to play.

Pittman’s availability is good news for the Colts as they won’t miss any time with one of their star receivers. Pittman has caught 22 of 37 targets for 238 yards and a touchdown in five games. He scored his only touchdown last week during a narrow 37-34 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Pittman’s biggest game so far this year came in the team’s 27-24 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 4. He totaled 113 yards on six catches.
