Game Freak Leaks Reveal ‘Pokémon Movie for Adults’ and New Anime in Production

In the last few hours, Pokémon fans around the world have been rocked by a huge Game Freak leak that has revealed thousands of files from past, present and future games. One of the most impactful revelations from this breach is the revelation of “Pokémon Movie 24,” an adult-themed reboot film that may have been lost in production.

Bring her back

According to a post on social media revealing the contents of the files, Codename Bauer has been and has been in development since 2021 allegedly is scheduled to appear in 2023. It’s not clear what happened to the film.

It was claimed that this film would deal with “adult themes” such as bullying and suicide, and was designed as a reboot that would “reconnect with departed fans” in order to bring back more adult viewers.

Here’s what the post on Twitter claimed:

It is set in modern Kanto and the main mythical Pokémon of the plot is Mew. Two new protagonists: Light and Akari (male/female). Directed by Kobun Shizuno (Detective Conan).

It was also claimed that a new Pokémon anime (Codename Reload) and a follow-up film to Detective Pikachu were in the works. The recent Game Freak leaks have revealed everything about these projects, right down to the full plot outlines.

Codename Reload was reportedly produced with Twin Engine, known for A Whisker Away. It consists of 12 episodes broadcast over a year and airs on platforms such as Netflix and Amazon Prime.

As with Codename Bauer, the future of the production is unclear as it should have already been released.

Game Freak addressed these leaks, emphasizing that the breach occurred in August and that remedial measures had been taken to contain the data loss.
