The NFL is sending a top quarterback matchup to London this weekend.

Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears face Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars in London in Week 6, the second of three London meetings this season. Of course, it’s not quite what it seems.

Williams, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, appears to be figuring things out. With two 300-yard performances in his last three games, the rookie passer has showcased all the traits and skills that brought him to Chicago.

Lawrence, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 draft, has navigated difficult waters early in the season so far. However, Lawrence turned in his best performance in 2024, a 371-yard, two-touchdown game against the Colts that ended in a 37-34 victory and sent the Jags to London.

USA TODAY Sports will provide live updates, highlights and more from the London matchup between the Bears and Jaguars in Week 6 below:

Evan Engram is back for the Jaguars today and it doesn’t look like he missed a step. The Jags tight end was a much-needed security blanket for Trevor Lawrence, with three catches for 39 yards in one quarter of the game against the Bears.

A long, long Jaguars drive that ended in a field goal mostly sucked in the first quarter against the Bears. Chicago didn’t seem to get much going offensively, with just seven total yards at the end of the first quarter. However, the Jags only lead by a field goal at the start of the second quarter.

Jaguars wideout Brian Thomas Jr. entered the game with 397 receiving yards on the season. If he stays healthy, that puts him at a pace of over 1,300 yards. Against the Bears, he had two receptions for 21 yards early in the first quarter.

A methodical, tactless Jaguars possession stalled in the red zone. After several penalties and a Gabe Davis drop in the end zone, the Jags settled for a Cam Little boot for three points. The Jaguars lead the Bears 3-0 in the first quarter.

Anyone looking for an early American fireworks display by Caleb Williams will have to wait at least one more trip. The Jaguars’ defense forced the Bears to punt after Williams was stopped on third down. The referees may also have missed a facemask call on Williams.

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium – home of Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur FC – is a state-of-the-art facility that opened in 2019.

The stadium in Tottenham, London, England, can accommodate almost 63,000 fans. It features a retractable playing field that makes room for a soccer field underneath – a marvel of engineering.

The Jaguars have played in London 11 times in the last 10 seasons and have a 6-5 record in those games.

The Jaguars played two straight games in London in 2023 and will do so again in 2024. They are scheduled to play the Bears at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in Week 6 and the New England Patriots at Wembley Stadium in Week 7.

The Jaguars are 2-0 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and 4-5 at Wembley Stadium.

Who are the highest paid NFL players at what position?

We have a complete list at each position:

According to OverTheCap.com, the NFL’s top 18 players with average annual salary are all quarterbacks. Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott became the league’s highest-paid player on Sunday morning, agreeing to a four-year, $240 million contract. Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson has become the first non-quarterback to join the list of highest-paid players after signing a four-year, $140 million contract extension this offseason.

The Jaguars and quarterback Trevor Lawrence have agreed to a fiveyear, $275 million contract extension – with $200 million guaranteed – before the 2024 season, a person familiar with the situation told USA TODAY Sports.

At that time, Lawrence joined Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals as the NFL’s highest-paid quarterback and highest-paid player in league history (as measured by average salary per season). Dak Prescott later surpassed that mark.

Dak Prescott is currently the highest-paid NFL quarterback based on AAV. On the eve of the 2024 NFL season, he signed a four-year, $240 million contract extension with the Dallas Cowboys to overtake Lawrence and Burrow at the top spot.

Prescott also has the most guaranteed money in his contract among quarterbacks. A whopping $231 million of his deal is guaranteed, surpassing Deshaun Watson’s previous record of $230 million on his infamous fully guaranteed deal.

However, Prescott’s contract is not the NFL’s largest contract overall. That honor goes to Patrick Mahomes, who is set to earn $450 million under the 10-year deal he signed with the team in 2020.

Heading into Sunday’s Week 6 games, the Jaguars find themselves in the basement of the AFC South. Here’s how they fare in the division:

  1. Houston Texans (4-1)
  2. Indianapolis Colts (2-3)
  3. Tennessee Titans (1-3)
  4. Jacksonville Jaguars (1-4)

The Bears still have a little work to do to catch up with the Vikings in the division. Here’s what the NFC North looks like heading into Sunday’s Week 6 games:

  1. Minnesota Vikings (5-0)
  2. Detroit Lions (3-1)
  3. Chicago Bears (3-2)
  4. Green Bay Packers (3-2)

The Bears’ rookie QB may have flipped a switch. Williams has completed two passes for over 300 yards in his last three games.

Williams has thrown for 1,091 yards, five touchdowns and four interceptions in five games this season. He had his best performance, throwing two touchdowns against the Panthers in Week 5.

Chicago jumps across the pond and takes on the Jaguars at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, England.

The matchup counts as the Bears’ home game.

Guard Nate Davis is a healthy backup, while the team will be without DB Jaquan Brisker due to a concussion.
