Minnesota Wild players accept their fate and an official’s apology after losing to Seattle Kraken

“We can’t go into that in more detail,” said Mats Zuccarello. “The referees also do their best every night, and of course sometimes we don’t agree. But we must not allow this to enter our minds and concentrate on it. We just have to keep playing and keep playing hard and obviously today we felt like we should have won that game.

“But also give them credit. They came back and did a good job too.”

The Kraken might not have been as resilient after opening goals from Kirill Kaprizov and Hartman in the third period if Eriksson Ek had remained in action.

After capitalizing on Thursday in the Wild’s season-opening 3-2 win over Columbus, Eriksson Ek was also a factor against Seattle, setting up Matt Boldy’s power-play goal early in the second period.

Coach John Hynes had no update on Eriksson Ek’s status after the game.

The Wild play in Winnipeg on Sunday and have an additional forward available in Liam Ohgren. But if other strikers are injured, they would have to be called up. Marcus Johansson left the field later in the second period after colliding with Jordan Eberle, but returned to finish the game.
