Ariana Grande Imitates Britney and Miley in Stunning Musical Monologue

Ariana Grande vowed she wouldn’t steal the spotlight from her Saturday Night Live Monologue…but she went ahead and did it anyway.

The pop superstar took to the Studio 8H stage as this week’s host SNLand she immediately assured the audience, “I’m just hosting. “I won’t say that about myself,” she promised to keep her hosting duties “low-key.” But then she grabbed a microphone to sing about how reserved she was going to be and declared that she wouldn’t be doing her Britney Spears impersonation – before the familiar “…Baby One More Time” piano chords rang out and she gave us a perfectly breathy “Oh baby, baby…”

She added absolutely perfect impressions of Miley Cyrus and Gwen Stefani (can we get a full “Don’t Speak” cover?) before vowing she wouldn’t promote her new movie musical Evil – except SNL Actor (and her Evil Co-star) Bowen Yang stepped out in a Glinda costume. Grande ended up draping herself over a piano and was accompanied by high-pitched backup dancers as she hit some big notes… because, you know, she keeps it low-key.
