Oksana Orlan’s phenomenal hardcore action thriller

Oksana Orlan’s phenomenal hardcore action thriller

Oksana Orlan, a statuesque model turned actress, writer and producer, will kick your ass and break your foot Dominique, an absolutely wild action film with breathtaking plot twists. The film initially seems like just another pointless and forgettable VOD entry that we’ve seen countless times. That expectation changes dramatically when a razor-sharp first act goes in a truly shocking direction. Every character is fair game once ruthless and sadistic villains are released. Prepare for shock, awe and heartbreak. There are no sacred cows or boundaries here.

In the Colombian desert of La Guajira, cackling thugs from the evil De La Cruz Cartel race toward their latest conquest in a red Jeep. They shot down a plane believed to belong to a rival drug gang. Hector (David M Sandoval Jr.) cautiously approaches the wreckage. The front of the plane is still intact. He opens the door and motions for his men to take out a large wooden box locked with chains. It is difficult. Hector curses them for trying to shoot it open. You don’t know what’s inside. Then he finds a great surprise in the cockpit. The pilot, a beautiful blonde woman (Orlan), is unconscious. Horny Hector senses a hideous opportunity. He doesn’t get a chance.

Dominique doesn’t waste any time

After the drive to San Lucas, Dominique drinks alone in a bar until Julio (Sebastián Carvajal) sits at her table. He warns her to be careful. San Lucas is a dangerous place run by evil people. The woman drinks a shot and eyes the handsome Julio hungrily before engaging him in a one-night stand. The next morning he wakes up to find her looking out his window at the pregnant Paulina (Maria del Rosario) and several children nearby. Julio explains that it is his sister and his family. Her husband recently died.

Dominique has an uncomplicated structure. The main characters are established within minutes. Julio, Paulina, their three children and their elderly father in a wheelchair are good people stuck in a nest full of vipers. Everyone is fascinated by the fearless woman sitting at the breakfast table. Why does she look so broken? Where did she come from? Is that a gunshot wound to the side of her scalp? Dominique exudes a quiet menace. She isn’t intimidated in the slightest by her situation. This “gringa” can obviously handle herself.

Unpredictable, mind-blowing and action-packed

Dominique

Director/Writer Michael S. Ojeda, who previously worked with Orlan The Russian brideHe stirs up a hornet’s nest with a big revelation in the second act. Jaws will hit the floor. What emerges is haunting, ugly, and completely reframes history. Ojeda deserves credit for being unpredictable. He lures the audience into a false sense of security and then delivers a narrative banger that hits like a freight train. Ojeda raises the stakes to the point of no return. Dominique must choose to follow her conscience or allow a dire situation to get worse. This is not an easy thing for someone who has always chosen self-preservation.

There are a plethora of action-packed movies that you can watch for free on Tubi. Here are some of the best you’ll find on the platform.

Dominiques Action scenes are phenomenal. She’s an unstoppable killing machine, but in a believable way. The villains underestimate her, which always leads to her downfall. How can a “gringa” be so deadly? Because she tactically outsmarts her attackers at every turn. Dominique takes advantage of all the advantages available to her. She knows how to exploit the supposed advantages of her attackers. What she does is incredible and, frankly, realistic. It’s rare to see an action protagonist behave so meticulously on screen. Dominique perfectly implements a well-thought-out plan and, in the bloody aftermath, fills the morgue.

Oksana Orlan is excellent, but Dominique has a big disappointment

Orlan demonstrates acting skill in an extremely physical performance. Dominique’s character develops significantly. She’s not just a cold, murderous assassin. Julio, Paulina and especially the lovely children fueled their compassion. Dominique learns to be more empathetic, but feelings and caring are also a weakness that weakens her armor. It all leads to a surprisingly good action film that is truly hardcore and gripping.

Unfortunately, despite the heartbreaking climax, the film’s denouement feels like a huge cop-out – told through stills during the end credits. It probably would have cost a fortune to film, but it’s still a huge burden. Nonetheless, Dominique is a must for action fans.

Dominique is a production of Agora Films, Green Dog Films and Reigning Entertainment. It is currently available on demand from Lionsgate. You can watch it via the link below.
