Chester County deputies use drone to track down and arrest man charged with murder of his own mother

CHESTER COUNTY, S.C. – A murder suspect is behind bars after a quick arrest in Chester County. The suspect is accused of killing his own mother.

The Chester County Sheriff’s Office confirmed after a nearly two-hour search that Breon Feaster was taken into custody and placed behind bars. Investigators say deputies responded

Shooting at a home on Columbia Road just after 12 Friday morning. When officers arrived, they said they found a victim who had been shot inside the home. The victim was later pronounced dead. Investigators confirmed the victim was Feaster’s mother.

Officers say Feaster fled the scene and was on the run for nearly two hours. The emergency services pursued Feaster with K9 units and a drone equipped with a thermal imaging camera. The agency’s drone team spotted Feaster walking on train tracks directly behind the home where the shooting occurred. Officers pursued Feaster and eventually arrested him just minutes from his original escape location.

Feaster was taken to the Chester County Detention Center and charged with murder and murderPossession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime. The sheriff’s office says this arrest would not have been possible without the work of the drone team.
