“I don’t need the money anymore,” says TI, announcing his retirement from the gig

TI made the decision to withdraw from live performances at the end of the year.

During an appearance Thursday on Atlanta radio station 96.1 The Beat’s “Rari at 2” with Young Dro, TI confirmed that his final performance will be Dec. 19 in Atlanta at the station’s annual Jingle Ball. TI will be headlining alongside T-. Pain, Sexxy Red, Saweetie, Khalid, Tinashe, The Kid Laroi and more.

“I appreciate all of you for offering me my last work gig because I don’t need the money anymore and I won’t be performing,” the “Why You Wanna” rapper said during the conversation. “I don’t want to do it anymore… I don’t want people paying me to jump around and sweat for their entertainment anymore.”

TI 45, then teased that he would take over the concerts the “Live Your Life” artist doesn’t want. “I’ll pick up all of Tip’s shows that he doesn’t go to. I do them all,” Dro said.

After host Ferrari Simmons asked TI if he would “do anything” for another upcoming performance, the “No Mediocre” artist responded, “Of course I’ll answer the phone to let them know I won’t be performing. ”

TI had one caveat, however – that he would perform on his own terms.

Last month, TI performed at halftime of the Atlanta Falcons’ matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs, where his daughter Heiress performed her father’s hit “Live Your Life” with him.

While TI may be saying goodbye to performing, the rest of the Harris clan is still hitting the stage. Ms. Tiny has just completed the summer leg of the QMembers of the R&B Tour with performances by the OMG Girlz. Even Heiress joined legendary groups Xscape and SWV on some dates of her tour and performed at the BET Awards alongside VanVan, the most popular little rapper of all time.
