However, it looks like the hacks aren’t slowing down anytime soon. The latest developer to unfortunately be affected by such a breach is Game Freak, best known for its work leading the main series of Pokemon games. This morning, Reliable Pokemon insider CentroLeaks confirmed that the studio was hacked and highlighted some of the things that have already been shared.

Pokémon developer Game Freak has apparently been hacked

Details about the hack are still a bit unclear at the moment, but CentroLeaks shared some of the findings on Twitter. One of the biggest surprises is that Game Freak is apparently working on some kind of Pokémon MMOas there is a file indicating that an “MMO test” is in development.

Another project leaked through the hack is Codename Synapsewhich is said to be a new Pokémon game developed in collaboration between Game Freak and ILCA. According to the files, it is a multiplayer title focused on battles, and some have theorized that it could be an entry in the Pokemon Stadium series. It’s possible that codename Synapse Is the above-mentioned MMO is or has MMO elements.

The hack also reportedly contains the source code for Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver.

The final big takeaway from the leak is the confirmation that Game Freak is currently working on Gen 10 for the successor to the Nintendo Switch, which appears to be codenamed “Ounce”. Nothing else has been announced about the game being developed for the Switch 2 at this time, but as more and more is revealed about the hack, it’s likely that it will be released in the near future.

Game Freak and Nintendo have not yet commented on the hack since it only happened recently, but judging by Insomniac and Rockstar Games’ situations, we can probably expect a response soon.
