Police are investigating after a man was shot while sleeping in his Lancaster County home early Saturday morning.

The Lancaster Bureau of Police was dispatched around 2:30 a.m. after a report of a shooting in the 300 block of South Anne Street.

Police said they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the hand.

According to police, the victim reported that he was sleeping in his bedroom when a bullet shot through his window and hit him in the hand.

According to police, several bullet casings and bullet fragments were collected in the area of ​​the home. Officers also noted damage to other surrounding homes believed to have been caused by the shooting.

According to police, the victim was taken to the hospital and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
