AC Milan are now hoping for a £13million swoop for Crystal Palace player. Oliver Glasner only started once

In 2024, Crystal Palace sold a handful of key players and currently looks set to follow a similar path in 2025.

Dougie Freedman brought seven new faces to Selhurst Park in the summer and yet few have been as successful so far – despite Crystal Palace’s worrying form.

Oliver Glasner will be very worried as he watches his Eagles slide down the Premier League table and currently find themselves in a lowly 18th place, a result that would only be enough to avoid relegation.

With so many players underperforming and the system malfunctioning, it’s been a total disaster so far – although it’s absolutely remediable with Glasner trying to fix it now.

Now it looks like a summer signing exit could already be on the cards as European giants AC Milan start to make the rounds.

Ismaila Sarr is now wanted by AC Milan

Of the seven players the Eagles have signed over the summer, only Maxence Lacroix has really impressed so far – while Ismaila Sarr also put in a strong performance and was just missing playing time.

Now there are reports in Italy suggesting a possible departure for the Senegalese winger from Selhurst Park.

At least that is the opinion of La Gazzetta dello Sport, who claim that Sarr is one of AC Milan’s options to strengthen the attack, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic looking for budget options as he is now “the boss” of the famous Italian team.

The Italian media writes that Sarr is not untouchable at Selhurst Park – and cites his only start in seven games as the reason for this.

It is also claimed he would be available for a transfer fee of just £12.5million – the exact amount he cost the Eagles in the summer. For this reason, Sarr is considered a sustainable option for Milan.

A sale to Milan would be an annoying decision by the Eagles as Sarr shows real potential despite barely playing.

Crystal Palace could lose several in 2025

Sarr never really got going since his move and Glasner gave him minimal playing time despite some impressive performances – and his outstanding stats were very encouraging.

Ismaila Sarr 24/25

Stat Per 90 percentile
Expected assists 0.31 91st percentile
Opportunities created 2.06 66th percentile
Touches in the opponent’s penalty area 6.61 75th percentile
Fouls won 2.48 89th percentile

However, Sarr won’t be the only name potentially eliminated in 2025, as several others were removed this week.

This comes after Marc Guehi was linked with an exit as the Eagles have reportedly come to terms with the fact that he could leave in the next two transfer windows.

Jean-Philippe Mateta is another possible exit, with reports suggesting he will be next on the list.

Finally, Jefferson Lerma has reportedly attracted interest from Galatasaray – which would be a major loss for Crystal Palace.
