The Buffaloes (4-1, 2-0 Big 12) are feeling confident after an impressive 48-21 performance against the UCF Knights two weeks ago. Colorado punched UCF in the mouth early. Perhaps most impressively, her inept running game transformed into a formidable presence, racking up 128 yards on the ground.

Hunter, Jimmy Horn Jr., LaJohntay Wester and Will Sheppard all have at least 17 receptions on the season, making for a pick-your-poison coverage game.

A win over Kansas State will further strengthen Colorado’s chances of earning a spot in the AP Top 25.

Kansas State (4-1, 1-1) sits a few spots behind the Buffaloes in the Big 12 standings. They were defeated at BYU on Sept. 21 but have appeared to be strong contenders for the Big 12 title since then. They also shot down the number at that time. 20 Oklahoma State.

The Buffaloes will once again face a strong rushing attack, this time from both sides, as the Wildcats rank among the nation in rushing offense (252.2 yards per game) and rushing defense (91.8 yards per game). are in the top 20.

Colorado is one of six remaining programs in the country that has not allowed a 100-yard rusher this season, and it holds UCF bulldozer RJ Harvey to 77 yards.

Sophomore quarterback Avery Johnson has been solid under center with 879 yards and nine touchdowns while also throwing four interceptions. His QBR of 74.3 ranks in the top 30 in the country.

Johnson has to limit turnovers in order to keep the Buffaloes’ playmakers – with the exception of Hunter – off the field.

Kansas State’s defense has been known to give up big plays, which could spell doom for Sanders’ productive arm. In the red area they are robust.

It is the first meeting between the two schools since 2010. Colorado won this duel in a shootout 44:36. The game is sold out, marking the fifth consecutive time a home or away game has been sold out in Colorado.
