Man shot dead at El Monte sports bar; two women injured – San Gabriel Valley Tribune

One man was shot and two women were injured in a shooting at a sports bar in El Monte early Saturday, Oct. 12, authorities said.

The shooting was reported around 12:09 a.m. in the 10700 block of Lower Azusa Road and El Monte Avenue. Video footage showed police officers cordoning off the street in front of the Silver Dollar Saloon.

Officers were stopped and directed to the sports bar, where they found a shooting victim lying on the ground suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. A second shooting victim, a woman, was taken to a hospital before officers arrived. Her condition was unknown. Witnesses said a third gunshot victim, a woman, left the scene.

Further details, including what may have led to the shooting, were not immediately available.
