Man shot dead at El Monte sports bar – NBC Los Angeles

One person was killed and another person was injured following a shooting at a sports bar in El Monte, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

El Monte police were called to the Silver Dollar Saloon on Lower Azusa Road just after midnight Saturday. There, officers found a man on the ground suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

According to law enforcement, the person, whose identity has not been released, died from his injuries.

A second person injured in the shooting was found at a nearby hospital with a gunshot wound to the arm. It is unclear how they got to the medical facility.

Several people were in the sports bar at the time of the shooting, which occurred just hours after the Dodgers advanced to the National League Championship Series. Details about what led to the shooting were not immediately available.

LASD did not provide a description of what was possible. The case remains under investigation.
