Louisville vs. Virginia Odds, Predictions: College Football Week 7

play

Louisville football is far from hitting the panic button.

The Cardinals are only two games into their ACC schedule and are halfway through the season. But that doesn’t mean there shouldn’t be a sense of urgency. After two straight losses to Notre Dame and SMU, U of L coach Jeff Brohm & Co. will look to bounce back against Virginia. Although the Cardinals have won their last two meetings against the Cavaliers, they are 2-4 on Virginia’s home field.

Starting faster and improving communication are two of the team’s priorities to stop Virginia, which has won its last two games.

  • Quarterback Tyler Shough became the first Louisville player with multiple touchdown passes in five consecutive games since Lamar Jackson accomplished the feat in the first five games in 2017.
  • Wide receiver Ja’Corey Brooks is the second receiver in program history to average more than 40 yards per catch and catch at least three balls per game.
  • Louisville’s consecutive losses by seven points are a first for the program since Sept. 8-15, 1973, when it lost to Memphis and Kent State.
  • Louisville is 17-24 on the road in ACC games.
  • Louisville has lost 10 straight games without causing a turnover or a sack since 2022.

Louisville 35, Virginia 21. Although the Cardinals have struggled recently, Brohm appears to have recognized the issues with the team’s slow start and is working to fix them. It will be enough to get U of L back in the win column.
