Eagles Saquon Barkley hopes to end surprising trend in Week 6

PHILADELPHIA – Saquon Barkley has played in six games at Lincoln Financial Field in his career, five of them with the New York Giants and the other coming earlier this season as a member of the Eagles.

Barkley’s record at the Linc? 0-6.

“I didn’t know that statistic until I dropped the ball against the Falcons, that I never won there,” he said.

Obviously, this trend needs to be stopped, and the 2-2 Eagles can only hope it ends on Sunday against the 1-4 Cleveland Browns.

“I’m definitely looking forward to getting to the Linc and finally getting a win and getting that one, getting a bunch of wins there and protecting our house,” he said. “We have some of the best fans in the world and it means a lot to me to go out there and get a win for them.”

Barkley and the Eagles will be bolstered Sunday by the returns from injury of receivers AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith, as well as right tackle Lane Johnson.

“It feels really good to have players of this caliber back on the field,” Barkley said. “It definitely helps. It definitely doesn’t hurt. At the end of the day we still need to move on to working better, taking care of the little things, focusing on our details and I think we addressed that in practice this week and now we need to come out ( Saturday). Pack things up and be ready for Sunday.”

Maybe Sunday will be the day Barkley wins his first game at Linc. Until then, here’s his story at the Eagles’ home stadium:
