“NBA TV’s Sam Mitchell has a nervous breakdown on-air and reveals Chris Miles’ home address.”

Things got heated on the show between NBA TV analyst and former basketball star Sam Mitchell and his colleague Chris Miles when the latter made a joke about the former’s salary.

There was an argument on Friday night that made for one of the most extremely embarrassing segments on television in recent memory. You can watch a clip of the explosion below.

Miles had asked Mitchell if Warriors coach Steve Kerr didn’t receive a gold medal for leading the U.S. men’s Olympic team to glory in Paris last summer.

“I guess it just tells you [in] international [play] how they value coaches – not at all,” Mitchell joked.

Then Miles started teasing Mitchell, who was the Raptors’ head coach from 2004 to 2008, by saying, “I’m surprised coaches get a paycheck for this show. Maybe you should do it for free, my friend.”

It then became clear that Miles had touched a nerve when Mitchell said his salary was actually “pretty close” to pro bono, before accusing Miles of “bragging” about his money and threatening to reveal his home address to viewers.

“I’m sorry, did you rent out your beach house down in Florida during the hurricane? … How about your townhouse in Buckhead? [Georgia]?”

Miles seemed taken aback by Mitchell’s comment, and that wasn’t all. Mitchell went on to accuse him of confronting him and “screaming broke and hungry.”

“I know what you have and where you live, young man, so you have to stop,” he continued.

Miles grinned before accusing Mitchell of being a “snitch,” but Mitchell said he was actually a “truth teller.”

“You need to stop messing with me on national television,” Mitchell continued. “…Do I have to reveal the address? Because you’re not home right now.”

After nearly 90 seconds of heated exchanges, Miles Mitchell finally turned his attention to another topic as they discussed the Blazers-Clippers preseason game in Seattle.

But Mitchell wasn’t quite finished yet. Minutes later, in another segment, Mitchell actually revealed Miles’ address in Destin, Florida.

“Have you installed the pool yet?” asked Mitchell.

Viewers reacted to the surprising incident on social media as the clip made the rounds.

“Damn, that was personal!” said one.

“Don’t joke about a man and his money. That probably [not] even the first time,” another added.

“The young guy asked for it,” a third added.

Mitchell played in the NBA for 13 years, primarily with the Minnesota Timberwolves, where he concluded his career in the 2001-02 season.

Over the course of his career, he averaged 8.7 points and 3.7 rebounds per game.

The 61-year-old later served as an assistant coach for the Bucks, Nets, Timberwolves and Grizzlies. He also served as interim head coach for Minnesota from 2015 to 2016.

Mitchell officially retired from coaching after the 2018-19 season.
