Woman fatally shot, two others injured in shooting on west side

A woman was killed and two others were injured in a shooting on the west side

Eleven people were shot within two hours Friday evening, including three women in East Garfield Park. Police said one of those women died and the other two are expected to recover.

CHICAGO – Three women were shot on Chicago’s West Side Friday evening, leaving one fatally injured, police said.

According to Chicago police, the victims were found on the sidewalk and inside a residence in the 200 block of North Kedzie Avenue around 9:40 p.m.

One of the women suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

A 25-year-old woman was admitted to the same hospital with a gunshot wound to the right shoulder. She was listed in good condition. The other victim, a 23-year-old woman, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital with gunshot wounds to the back. She was also listed in good condition.

No one was in custody as of Saturday morning and the circumstances surrounding the shooting are being investigated by Area Four investigators.
