NBA fans react to Cade Cunningham’s dominance in Pistons vs. Suns

A little rest can go a long way for an NBA star like Cade Cunningham.

Detroit Pistons head coach JB Bickerstaff made it clear to reporters earlier this week that Cunningham’s slow night followed by an early bench change was no cause for alarm.

After getting some rest, Cunningham dominated in the postgame, helping the Pistons to another win against the Phoenix Suns, whom they defeated on Tuesday.

@FroemelAndy: “Cooking Cade 🍳.”

@IAmEricVincent: “National love for Cade>>>”

@AdamTWGray: “Amazing when you have competent NBA veterans around you to accommodate as a Pistons fan. We were crying out for spacing for Cade, hopefully that shows in the regular season.”

When Cunningham played 30 minutes Friday night, it looked like he was midseason.

The outstanding guard shot 16 times from the field and scored a game-high 25 points. He grabbed 12 rebounds and nearly had a triple-double when he dished out nine assists.

@KOT4Q: “Cade Cunningham with space 🥲”

@MobHoops: “Look what happens when you give Cade Cunningham actual distance lol”

@DefPenHoops: “Cade Cunningham is primed for a GREAT season in Detroit 🔥”

The Pistons entered the offseason with a ton of cap space, giving them the opportunity to make some notable additions. Last year, they were linked to former Philadelphia 76ers forward Tobias Harris. With a two-year contract, the Pistons managed to convince Harris to return to Detroit.

After missing the first two games of the preseason due to illness. Harris finally made his debut on Friday night in Phoenix.

@nsitto2: “This is exactly why the Detroit Pistons signed Tobias Harris. An A+ addition.”

@Harden4dreie: “Tobias Harris turns back into Clippers, leads Detroit to 10-seed”

In Detroit, Harris is expected to take on a larger role. The veteran moved up the pecking order, scoring an efficient 22 points in 27 minutes of play. He also provided three assists on offense.

Defensively, Harris managed five rebounds, grabbed two steals and blocked a shot.

The Pistons defeated the Suns 109-91. With this win, they move to 2-1 in the preseason with wins over the Suns and Milwaukee Bucks.

Detroit returns to the court Saturday night for a match against the Golden State Warriors.
