Texas Tech football has been extremely exciting this season.

The Red Raiders (5-1, 3-0 Big 12) have five wins through the first six weeks of the 2024 college football season, but always seem poised for exciting results. Tech opened the season with a 52-51 overtime win over Abilene Christian and has had a sense of drama ever since.

Tech lost its Week 2 game against Washington State 37-16 and beat North Texas 66-21 in Week 3. Since then, however, the Red Raiders have played close games. Texas Tech has rattled off three straight one-possession wins against Arizona State (30-22), Cincinnati (44-41) and Arizona (28-22).

Behren Morton has completed 139 of 221 passes (62.9%) for 1,640 yards, 14 touchdowns and two interceptions to lead the Red Raider offense. Tahj Brooks leads the rushing attack with 124 carries for 679 yards and seven touchdowns, while Josh Kelly leads the receivers with 44 catches for 514 yards and three touchdowns.

No, Texas Tech football is not playing this week as one of its two bye weeks will occur in Week 7 of the 2024 college football season.

Tech returns to the Big 12 matchup in Week 8 at home against Baylor on Oct. 19. The following week, the Red Raiders play another in-state game on the road against TCU. Texas Tech will play four more games before its next scheduled bye week on Nov. 16 before ending the season with two conference games.
