Jaylen Brown accuses NBA DPOY of drug use in hilarious IG exchange between ex-teammates

A new NBA season is just around the corner and many stars who were injured last season are ready to return to the court. Well, Marcus Smart is among those players as he has fully recovered from the finger injury that limited him to just 20 games last year. As expected, the former DPOY worked hard over the summer to get back into playing shape and even bragged about his new look on social media. However, this led to a funny exchange between him and his former Celtics teammate Jaylen Brown when the reigning Finals MVP accused Smart of drug use.

In his latest Instagram post, Smart shared several images of his first Grizzlies jersey. “Grade 11 Loading (Hourglass Emoji)” wrote the veteran guard, excited about his return to action. Despite being sidelined for most of last season, he looked in good shape in the pictures and even appeared more muscular and leaner than in the past. Jaylen Brown noticed the change and jokingly commented on the post, saying: “My boy was at Ozempick @rozier.” Even tag another former teammate, Terry Rozier.

In fact, Ozempic is a drug that suppresses a person’s appetite. And that eventually leads to weight loss. Yes, the drug is not banned in the NBA. But its use is frowned upon in most major sports leagues. Therefore, JB’s comment was most likely a joke to honor Smart’s transformation. Additionally, he even left another comment on the Grizzlies star’s post: “You look good, family!!” And this time Smart responded with a hilarious response: “@fchwpo Lmaoo boy funny I love my G” Clearly there is nothing but love between Brown and Smart, as they were teammates in Boston for seven years and made multiple playoff runs together. But it’s time for Smart to focus on the upcoming season.

Marcus Smart wants to “stay healthy” despite the Knicks’ reported interest.

Well, the hilarious exchange between Smart and Brown certainly highlighted the incredible state of the former DPOY. And that will help him achieve his goal this year after an injury-plagued season. “First of all, I have to stay healthy. For me it’s just coming in and being myself. I didn’t have that opportunity last year…That means making an impact in any way you can.” He said. Additionally, Smart finally returned to the court earlier this week when he made his preseason debut against the Mavs.

As expected, there was some rust, but he seemed to be in good shape overall, scoring 6 points and providing five assists. He continued this in the next game by scoring four points against the Hornets. As Smart prepares for the regular season, there have been rumors that the Knicks were having internal discussions about a potential deal for the veteran guard. Yes, moving is not safe. But it does indicate the franchise’s interest in Smart. Whether it’s for the Grizzlies or another team, Smart’s only focus is on having a successful season and winning games. “For me it’s more about showing something. For me it’s more about getting on the court and letting my game speak for itself.” What do you think about his recent transformation?
