Saturday Holiday: Are banks open or closed this Saturday, October 12, 2024?

As per Reserve Bank of India guidelines, banks, both scheduled and unscheduled, will remain closed on second and fourth Saturdays.

Are banks open or closed this Saturday, October 12, 2024?

This Saturday, October 12, 2024, banks will remain closed as it is the second Saturday of the month. Please also note that some states observe a public holiday for Dussehra on Thursday and Friday, October 10 and 11.


On the occasion of Dussehra, banks are closed on different days depending on the state. In some states, banks are closed for four consecutive days to celebrate festivals like Dussehra. October 14 – Durga Puja (Dasain) – Banks are closed in Sikkim.
