Plymouth Bonfire Night attracts 20,000 people to free display

Around 20,000 spectators are expected to come to Plymouth for the bonfire night, Plymouth City Council said.

The free event will take place on the Hoe on November 5th, with fireworks launching from the Citadel Wall at 7:30pm GMT and lasting 15 minutes.

In addition to a large campfire, there are rides and catering stands.

Councilor Sally Haydon, cabinet member for events, said: “Bonfire Night is one of the most important events in our calendar each year in Plymouth.”

She added: “Year after year we put on an impressive bonfire and fireworks display that is not to be missed.”

“The event is free to attend and offers plenty of fun activities for families in the evening.”

Plymouth Waterfront Partnership sponsored the 2024 event.

Jon Walton, CEO of Plymouth Waterfront Partnership, said: “We are delighted to be able to support this incredibly popular and free annual event which really showcases our spectacular Hoe and waterfront.”

A council spokesman warned that parking at the event site was “very limited” and people were advised to use city center car parks.

Disabled parking would be available on the Hoe for those showing a blue badge.
