How to watch, cast, time and more

It’s been a long time coming, but the Kansas basketball team is nearing the start of the highly anticipated 2024-25 season. The season begins in less than a week with the 40th edition of Late Night in the Phog at the legendary Allen Fieldhouse. The wait is finally over!

KU students and fans have access to an exclusive concert, team introductions, a scrimmage and even the popular half-court shot challenge for a chance to win $10,000. You won’t want to miss out on seeing the redesigned Jayhawks in action in public for the first time. That’s why here you’ll find all the information you should know before Saturday.

For those unable to attend the event, fans can tune in to Late Night if they have an ESPN+ subscription. Kansas Athletics also hosts it on Facebook Watch and KUAthletics.com. Unfortunately, for copyright reasons, only the men’s and women’s fights will be broadcast online.

Date: Saturday, October 18th
Start time:
6:30 p.m. CT
Gates open:
5:30 p.m. CT

Hip-hop artist Lil Jon will perform on Late Night. The Grammy-winning DJ is best known for songs like “Turn Down for What” and “Yeah!” He rose to fame in the mid-2000s and has enjoyed major mainstream success for over two decades.

Fellow rapper Nelly was supposed to take the stage at Allen Fieldhouse this year, but was replaced after his arrest in August on suspicion of drug possession. Previous Late Night appearances include Snoop Dogg, 2 Chainz, Lil Yachty and more.

The men’s basketball team will play its scrimmage at 7:55 p.m. CT, while the women’s basketball team is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. CT.
