I’m disappointed that the Fantastic Beasts films don’t live up to their promises

The Fantastic beasts Movies had their flaws, but the biggest plot point the franchise focused on excited me beyond belief, and now it’s possible it may never appear on the big screen. While Harry Potter was a global phenomenon and the films only made the franchise even stronger with nearly $10 billion at the worldwide box office (via The numbers), the spin-off Fantastic beasts Movies were cursed with bad luck. In only three films, the role of Grindelwald was played by three different actors, which didn’t exactly help the continuity of the films.

Then various actors and even the author of the original stories who wrote the scripts for them Fantastic beasts Movies were involved in dramas that put them in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. Ultimately, this confusion and drama, along with the films’ generally poor performance, led to the franchise failing put on hold indefinitely after only three of the planned five films were made. But that leaves the story of Dumbledore and Grindelwald without a solution. This may be the biggest missed opportunity as the franchise is cut.

I’m sad that the Fantastic Beasts films can’t deliver the story of Dumbledore and Grindelwald

Possibly the wizarding world’s greatest love story remains unseen

Given the extensive lore and backstory of the Harry Potter books and the Expanded Universe, it’s no secret what happens to Dumbledore and Grindelwald. However, that is Fantastic beasts Films promised to bring this precarious relationship to the big screen. The love shared between these characters, tested due to their vastly different beliefs and perspectives, is ultimately destined to lead to a duel of epic proportions. And while it’s nice to have the story in the novels and briefly mentioned in the films, it was a moment that I was really incredibly excited to see in live action.

Every actor who played Grindelwald in Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts

The dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald has been played by many actors in the wizarding world. Who are they and what did they each bring to the role?

And regardless of whether the story took place against Johnny Depp or Mads Mikkelsen, it would have been spectacular to see these heavyweight actors step up to the plate and take on Jude Law’s Dumbledore. All three actors are incredibly talented and capable of portraying a range of emotions and characters that include good, evil and everything in between. But now it is It seems almost impossible that this love story and duel will ever happen in a visual format.

Grindelwald’s rise and fall was one of the most exciting parts of the Harry Potter spinoff

Grindelwald has a unique history in the Potterverse

It’s no secret that villains’ stories are often more exciting and compelling than those of heroes. The motivations and situations that lead to these characters They follow a path that makes them outsidersand cause them to do increasingly morally ambiguous things. A hero has a path to becoming the best, but as long as there have been stories, those stories have been told countless times. Now cinema has turned its attention to the villains to try to unravel the mysteries of their minds.

Grindelwald was simply a compelling character who seemed to have a much more nuanced arc than someone like Voldemort. Grindelwald had a bright futureand the potential to be great coupled with the love of a truly great man. But ultimately he chose to continue down a darker path and do things that severed his connection with his beloved Dumbledore. But at the end of the third film in the Fantastic beasts His story is only half told in the series. This is ultimately an incredibly frustrating conclusion to the story of Dumbledore and Grindelwald.

Fantastic Beasts 4 not happening means we’re stuck with Aberforth’s version of events

In Harry Potter, Aberforth delivers a short and unshakable love story

Obviously, as I mentioned above, there are other allusions and depictions of the story in the world of Harry Potter. Most notably, Dumbledore’s brother Aberforth agrees an account of how the relationship between Albus and Grindelwald developed as the two became more opposing in their beliefs. And as nice as it was to hear Aberforth talk about his brother Harry Potter When it came to movies, it wasn’t anything like experiencing them on the big screen. No shade to Aberforth, but his storytelling only goes so far in revealing the complex love story that has the potential to be the greatest story of love and loss there is Harry Potter Universe.
