The Golden Eagles have a great first quarter being overwhelmed by Terre Haute North

Guerin Catholic returned to winning ways on Friday, defeating Terre Haute North 41-18 in a road game.

The Golden Eagles got off to a great start, leading 21-0 after the first quarter. Malcolm Houze passed for three touchdowns during that period, Hayden Cler for two and Trevor Macey for one. Nick Wilson hit all three extra points.

Wilson added two field goals, one each in the second and third quarters, to give Guerin Catholic a 24-6 lead at halftime and a 27-6 lead after three periods. Houze got back into the swing of things in the fourth quarter and finished the game with two touchdown runs.

Houze had a solid game, going 24 of 32 for 228 yards through the air and rushing for 68 yards. Julian Melendez collected eight passes, Cler six and Macey four. Kolbe Klee led the rushing with 102 yards; GC totaled 253 yards on the ground.

The Golden Eagles are 4-4 and travel to Lafayette Central Catholic next Friday to finish the regular season.
