A charity conference explores how to ask for money

A conference in Guernsey will examine the best way to ask people for money, use artificial intelligence and whether gala dinners are worth it.

The Association of Guernsey Charities conference takes place on Saturday at Les Beaucamps High School.

Wayne Bulpitt, chairman of the Association of Guernsey Charities, said the aim of the conference was to “support all the people working to make Guernsey an even better place”.

He added: “The event will feature a dynamic mix of exciting panels, workshops and networking opportunities, all focused on improving the impact of charities.”

Changing technology

Saturday’s keynote speaker is Joe Saxton, chairman of the Association of Chairs, the umbrella organization for charity chief executives.

Mr. Saxton has worked with more than 200 charities.

He was named one of the most influential people in voluntary sector communications by PR Week magazine and was twice listed as one of the most influential people in London by the Evening Standard newspaper.

Other topics include technology change, corporate donation flows, grant applications, diversity, motivational leadership and digital marketing.
