Will Rogers, Jonah Coleman, Denzel Boston, Giles Jackson and the rest of the Washington Huskies offense will have a pretty unique challenge to overcome this week. On Saturday at 11 a.m. CT and 9 a.m. PT (wake up early, folks), the Washington Huskies take on one of the Big Ten’s stingiest defenses when they take on the Iowa Hawkeyes.

And while Rogers, Coleman, Boston, Jackson and the rest of the UW offense seem to have found their rhythm, the Huskies still aren’t scoring many points. And this weekend they will face a defense that is holding people to just 18 points per game.

That’s good for 27th in the country. While Iowa’s offense is a mess, the Hawkeyes’ defense is legit. And for that, the Huskies have to find a way to be accountable. How feasible is that actually this season?

I guess we’ll find out soon enough.

The Huskies found a rhythm against the Michigan Wolverines and there seems to be some identity of what Washington really wants to do. It remains to be seen whether Brennan Carroll’s offense can repeat that success on the road against Iowa and the Hawkeyes’ defense.

This is a great opportunity for Jedd Fisch and the Huskies. To this point in the season, Washington has yet to win a game on the road at Husky Stadium. The Apple Cup was a disaster and the road trip to Rutgers was a mess too.

Washington is not expected to emerge victorious in this contest, but they have a chance to prove that last week’s victory was no fluke. The Huskies simply cannot afford not to score points when they have the opportunity. But that’s easier said than done, right?
