The 2024 Celebrity Dance Challenge raises money for the Minnesota Ballet

DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) – Local “celebrities” and professionals danced the night away for a good cause at the Minnesota Ballet in Duluth.

It’s the 18th annual Celebrity Dance Challenge.

The competition brings together local celebrities with Minnesota Ballet professionals for a special show featuring all dance styles.

Our very own sports reporter Daniel Chiarelli attended with his partner Brooke Bero.

He and his partner played jazz with a spooky twist.

The winning group included Chris Davies, a doctor from Essentia Health, and Brianna Crockett, who performed to a rock ‘n’ roll number in the competition.

“I’m pretty outgoing, but this has brought me out of my shell a little bit more,” Davies said.

“I think his personality really came through on stage, and I think the audience really appreciated that and loved that,” Crockett said.

Daniel may not have won, but to us he’s a winner, and he took home the Most Dramatic award!

All money raised Friday will benefit the Minnesota Ballet.

At the end of the season there are two more performances of the ballet: “The Nutcracker” and “Romeo and Juliet”.
