Jaden McDaniels scored 17 points on 6-for-8 shooting and former University of Iowa star Luka Garza added 14 points on 5-for-7 shooting in 17 minutes for the Wolves at Wells Fargo Arena, home of the 76ers, played Iowa Wolves.

Edwards did not play in the Wolves’ first preseason game against the Los Angeles Lakers in Palm Desert, California, last week. He played 23 minutes and 37 seconds, shot 7 of 14 from the floor and added four rebounds and three assists.

The Wolves, without Rudy Gobert or newly signed Julius Randle, led 30-22 after one quarter and 70-53 at halftime, shooting 49.4% from the floor and making 18 three-pointers on 50 attempts. Gobert did not travel to Iowa.

Philadelphia center Joel Embiid did not travel with the team and stayed behind for an evaluation of his surgically repaired knee.

The game was a homecoming for 76ers coach Nick Nurse, who was born and raised in Carroll, Iowa, and played college at Northern Iowa. In 1991, at age 23, Nurse became head coach at NAIA member university Grand View in Des Moines.
