Westside defeats Elkhorn South in a rematch for the title

In Friday’s Game of the Week, a rematch of the 2023 Class A state title game, No. 1 Westside once again maintained its place at the top with a 45-3 win over No. 3 Elkhorn South.

Also in Class A, No. 2 Millard South defeated Lincoln High 63-0, No. 4 Kearney posted a 36-33 nail-biter on the road over No. 6 Millard North and No. 9 Omaha Central’s defense stifled No. 7 Papio en route to a 27-7 victory for the Eagles.

Defending Class B champion Bennington did the same as its Class A counterparts, climbing to a perfect 6-0 with a 35-7 win over Elkhorn. Across town, Elkhorn North defeated Skutt Catholic 28-21 in a Class B ranked matchup, while Gretna dominated Platteview 51-14.
