One of the oldest road cycling races takes place on Sunday when the Giro di Lombardia (Tour of Lombardy) enters its 118th edition.

The fifth and final Monument Classic of the season is a one-day race for men’s road cycling in the 2024 UCI World Tour season. It will cover a distance of 252 km (156 miles) from Bergamo to Como.

World champion Tadej Pogacar from Slovenia is a three-time defending champion and will be the clear favorite in the 175er field.

Pogacar is hoping to become the first man since Fausto Coppi (1946-49) to win it in four consecutive years.

The race takes place in the Italian region of Lombardy.
