North Carolina’s QB throws for three touchdowns in the first half

It was a great first half Friday night for North Carolina quarterback Bryce Baker, a 4-star recruit from East Forsyth High in North Carolina.

Baker, the No. 5 player in North Carolina and the No. 11 quarterback in the country according to 247Sports, threw three first-half touchdowns against Parkland High as the Eagles built a huge lead in the first half.

With three minutes left in the first quarter, Baker threw his first touchdown of Friday, hitting Jaylin Murray for a 6-yard score to give the Eagles a 13-0 lead.

In the second quarter, Baker scored the game-winning score with a 60-yard scoring strike to Kendal Sawyer. Then he found Sawyer again with two minutes left in the half for a 26-yard TD throw that sent the Eagles into halftime with a 34-0 lead.

He almost scored on fourth down when his 38-yard throw to Sawyer in the first quarter was originally ruled a touchdown. After initially signaling a touchdown, the referee ruled that Sawyer had gone out of bounds. East Forsyth rallied for its first touchdown of the night on the next play.

As Baker watched from the sideline, East Forsyth’s offense continued to roll in the second half, ending the night with a 62-6 win.
